Feedback from some of our parents...
Parent feedback from March 2025-
"There are so many standout positive aspects of our experience with Little Stars that it's hard to pick just one! On a foundational level, the care and attention not only key persons but also the broader team put into settling children, getting to know them, and working with their individual personalities is extremely admirable. It's really above and beyond what I've seen in other settings. The opportunities for learning in so many different ways is also excellent: the number of trips and walks the kids go on at all ages is wonderful, and the forest school is an absolute dream for our bouncy 4 year old. I always feel like the kids are having such an enriching experience every day at Little Stars, and it's testimony to the quality of the staff that the nursery hires and manages to retain long term.
The staff are wonderful and always so clued up on our children as individuals as well as specific room users. They are so attentive to feedback and to any parental concerns over children's development, and this is helped so much by the regular parents evenings. We really value the opportunity at these to discuss our children in depth, and it creates a real sense that the setting as a whole is part of the same team with parents to helping children achieve their potential at early years.
The communication from management is brilliant - I feel fully kept in the loop about developments, and I have always been really impressed by the nursery's eagerness to involve parents in decision making (e.g. about menu, with regular feedback, with activity suggestions etc).
Communication from staff during the day is also excellent - I really value how many updates and photos we get of the children engaging in activities, especially when the kids are too young to relay these experiences to us themselves at pick-up!
We came to Little Stars after a bad experience at another nursery and I am forever telling friends with local, young children about the positive and compassionate care our children receive by all staff at Little Stars."
Parent feedback from March 2025-
"It is nerve wracking leaving your child in the care of someone else when they’re so young. But seeing F excited to see his friends and the staff members each day has been lovely. The social aspect of him attending has been really positive, as well as the skills and confidence he’s developed over the past 1.5 years. Knowing he enjoys attending every day and feels safe in the care of the staff is so important as his parent. Overall I’ve been incredibly pleased with the staff in both their care for Felix and the communication they provide to us as parents. Lauren and Hannah have been amazing key carers and provided support for me when we’ve struggled with behaviour issues and made plans to help F both in nursery and at home. The management team are also wonderful, always replying to emails quickly and sharing updates/comms to parents regularly. We feel very lucky to be part of the Little Stars community and grateful that we have a spot secured for our second baby in July 2026. The environment of the nursery feels relaxed and friendly, but critically I trust that my child is safe, well looked after and feels loved by the staff."
Parent feedback from March 2025-
"Every parent wants their child/ren to feel happy and safe and Little Stars provides this exact environment. It's a little daunting leaving your children for the first time but from the very start we realised the nursery offers a positive and nourishing experience and our child settled in no time. He always leaves Little Stars a content little boy full of beans and stories of adventures of his day. You came highly recommended by friends and neighbours and it was quick to see why when joining the Little Stars' community. It's a difficult job which involves a lot of energy and your staff do you credit with all their enthusiasm.
The staff are the backbone of the nursery, friendly, hardworking and ready to greet the children every morning with a smile. Little Stars are always quick to respond to emails and are impressively flexible compared to other nurseries. Frequent newsletters keep parents informed on anything new and the nursery is quick to communicate the likes of upcoming events and if any illnesses are circulating. The space is utilised really well and the children benefit from a wide range of activities plus a decent amount of outdoor time. It's lovely to be kept informed through "Tapestry notifications" and see photos of the children playing, dancing, Robot Reg, exercising and generally having fun. The parents' evenings, open days and parties work well too allowing us to befriend other parents and see the children interacting in person. Little Stars has also been brilliant at helping to support key learning curves e.g.: potty training.
We're really happy with the nursery. There are lots of families in the area with young children so the short commute on foot to and from the nursery is also a sociable affair. We know the children are in safe hands and are going to have a fun and interactive day. Little Stars is also unusual in that they do not bill for bank holidays even though they still have to pay their staff. They also have been brilliant at offering us swap days when we've taken our son out due to a holiday / illness. They are very unique in offering this. The staff are just lovely so it's an easy place to recommend."

"We are big fans of Little Stars and all the positive work they do at the nursery!
Our daughter has been attending for a number of years and we trust them completely with her care.
We love all the staff who we can see have a genuine passion for working with children.
We enjoy all of the activities and artwork that our daughter brings home. It gives us great pleasure to talk to her about all the things she gets up to at nursery. She regularly talks about time in Forest School or what she's had for lunch.
We feel the nursery keeps us up to date with really important matters like illnesses and day trips etc. We have also received great advice from members of the team about behaviour and potty training. It has helped us tremendously and we feel really supported as parents.
We have also enrolled our next child to start when he is ready!
Little Stars is a fantastic nursery that has a community and family friendly vibe to it. We would recommend Little Stars Childcare to all our friends!"

"As a parent of two children who have been to Little Stars Childcare since 2015 I have nothing but positive feedback. Both my children have thrived here and enjoyed being part of the nursery. The attention to detail for all the children’s as individuals, the time and effort that goes into each learning/play area and set ups, the kindness and nurture they provide and the communication and tapestry updates are fantastic. ALL staff I have interacted throughout the years have been warm, welcoming and supportive, especially as individual experiences Emma, Laura, Beth, Shannon and Remy. My daughters have always shown the love, care and nurture that has been provided to them by the staff. I am so thankful that my children were able to have experienced such a lovely nursery full of wonderful staff, experiences and activities! The nursery offers so much to give the children so many experiences, for example forest school which is on of my child’s favourite things to do. Thank you for all you love, kindness and support for both my girls during their time at Little Stars, you will all be missed massively when it’s her time to leave!!!"

"The most positive aspect of G's experience with you has been the social side. He has really thrived in the environment you provide. He loves it so much, he often complains that he has to leave and talks about his friends at nursery all the time. Your staff have supported him so well, especially with his transition from Toddlers to Preschool, and I know he trusts all of them if he has a problem and needs to ask for help. They have also been really great when we've gone through behavioural challenges, like biting/hitting phases and really worked hard to find the best solutions to support him through them. I feel like we've been a team and really appreciated their insights. I certainly trust them to deal with things in a professional, constructive and supportive way, while being firm when needed. The staff are all lovely, and I am incredibly happy to have Shelley H as his key worker. She is a very competent and kind person and I respect her immensely. I'd absolutely recommend Little Stars to others, and have many times. George loves it, we love it and I feel really confident that he is being looked after and cared for well. The staff are kind and genuinely care about the children, the facilities are excellent, the food is great, both the guided and free activities look/sound really engaging and fun, and I know he is learning a lot. We love you guys!"
Parent feedback from March 2025-
"Staff are caring, kind and I trust them to look after my child, not only look after her, but nurture her, encourage her and help her be a good little human. Also, the space is lovely, the garden is spacious and X loves the swing!! Also, despite how busy you are, you try and take the kids out/to care home/library etc, which I love and think is so important for the kids, and care home residents alike! The staff are lovely, kind and I trust them implicitly to care for my child. Communications are good generally, we are emailed regularly about menus, funding etc. I would recommend Little Stars to others for sure. You are great. Thank you!"

"I think my daughter thrives with autonomy to go outside in the large garden area and especially loves forest school and messy play. I’ve always felt happy that she has the opportunity for lots of fresh air and outside time. The staff are always very kind and friendly. I’ve had lots of encounters with my daughter’s key people to work together and ensure she has a consistent and aligned experience at home and at pre-school. Staff seem knowledgeable and committed. The flexibility is a HUGE advantage, the forest school is unique and the healthy food choices combined with great staff make it an excellent choice."
Parent feedback from August 2021-
"I can’t recommend Little Stars enough! The care that my daughter has received during her time there has been second to none. The staff are amazing, the relationships she has built up with them has meant it feels more like leaving her with family than a nursery. The facilities too are wonderful, with a fantastic range of activities and play on offer. With the garden, star school and forest school too, it is amazing what variety can be offered in one setting. I couldn’t be happier!"
Parent feedback from July 2021-
"My son has been going to little stars since he was about 15 months old and he is now about to leave to start school. We have always been super impressed with how the staff at little stars are constantly going the extra mile to enhance the children’s experiences and provide fun and engaging activities. They would never be satisfied to ‘rest on their laurels’ and are always evolving their practise think of ways to give the children the very best of care both educationally and emotionally. I love how they regularly take the children on trips around the local area and think of really inventive activities for the children both in the indoor and outdoor learning environments. The forest school activities are also brilliant and look like so much fun! What really sells the setting however is the amazing, caring nature of the staff. They genuinely love their jobs and are so fond of the children they look after. My son LOVES nursery and skips in every morning with a smile on his face. The other day after I had picked him up he said “Mummy nursery is so fun, I really love all my friends and teachers!” I would really thoroughly recommend that anyone send their children to Little Stars, we will really miss all the staff and thank them so much for everything they have done for our son."
Parent feedback from July 2021-
"For almost 4 years now, Little Stars has been like a second family for our son, providing a fun and safe place for him to grow and develop. He has absolutely loved his time at the nursery, and seeing him leave for the final time at the end of the summer will be a bittersweet moment.
From helping our son understand family bereavement, to dealing with separation anxiety, sleep and toilet training, nothing has ever been too much to ask over and above the 'day-to-day' activities that Little Stars operates. And those daily activities include Music Bugs, Yoga, walks, educational trips, and so much more. There's a reason why our son has always been excited about going back to nursery by the end of the weekends!
A special mention, too our son's keyworker, for the majority of his time at Little Stars, she has been absolutely superb. We'll all miss her very much.
Thank you so much for everything you've done for our son!"
Parent feedback from November 2020-
"Our baby started at Little Stars nearly a year ago, and her needs and desires have been privileged by all members of staff. Nursery directors are particularly attentive and keen to discuss any concern we have, from the smallest to the largest issues we raise as parents. Each morning, staff at the nursery take full account of how our baby is doing, and ask after what she might need throughout the day. Her social needs are acknowledged and catered for also: as a baby with older siblings, she loves the room with the bigger kids, and is given ample visiting time in this and other settings that keep her happy and attentive throughout the day. Our baby is read to, played with, cuddled and given opportunities to do things are not always equipped to undertake at home: painting and crafts, for instance. She loves the outside garden and the variety of toys at her nursery, and has developed friendships with other toddlers. We have complete confidence in the nursery, and cannot recommend its services highly enough. In fact, we do recommend it to everyone we know with small children."
Parent's feedback from July 2019-
- "Absolutely, outstanding, everyone very friendly and helpful. L, always comes to me, and says she’s had a nice time. Honest, reliable staff. Both, me and L are going to miss this place, and all the people that have come and gone from, this nursery.
I would definitely, highly recommend this nursery, and If I have anymore children, I would want them to come here.
Amazing atmosphere, loving and kind- hearted and warm welcoming staff."
-"We've never had a bad word to say about Little Stars. The care is outstanding and the range of activities put on is so varied. H comes home with new words daily and this can only be put down to the education he is receiving. Any contact made is personable and staff always seem to have time to chat and offer updates on development. C in particular has been superb with H and really understands his little traits! We are absolutely delighted with everything related to his care, development and safety and have recommended Little Stars to parents in the area. Thank you to all the staff and not forgetting the cook who does a superb job!"
-"L, has really grown, and learnt, so much from this nursery. She has expanded, her learning, and what she has learnt, she is going to take to school. I am going to miss, dropping L off here, with such a warm welcoming, and friendly and lovable staff. L’s key people ( S), was a fantastic, young lady, who always kept me updated about L’s, learning, and it was the same when, ( H, took over), I was always up to date, L has grown, so much, and learnt loads, from her main key- people. And I am glad, that she had other wonderful staff to turn to if she needed or wanted anything. Thank you ever so much, for all your hard work and dedication, to making L’s, learning day’s."
-"Fun, and educational, I couldn’t ask, for anything more, from a nursery, it’s been lovely. This nursery, is going to be missed, loads by me and L.
We think you're totally brilliant at Little Stars. J and G couldn't have got a better start and we feel so lucky to have found you (via a family friend). I don't know if I've ever mentioned it but I'm a teacher myself (secondary) and I always think that if I can bring as much warmth, support, creativity and professionalism to my classes as Little Stars does every day, then I'll be doing OK. Keep up the good work and I'm so glad that your quality has been recognised by OFSTED; LS is outstanding! :) I'm not on Facebook but, if you ever need a testimonial to put on the website or whatever, I'm more than happy to provide a glowing one. Best wishes and see you on Sunday week for the party!"
Parent's feedback from June 2018-
- "My three year old has been happy at Little Stars for over 2 years now and she is thriving through a mixture of learning activities like Star School, nature and creative activities and unstructured play indoors and outside. The staff all consistently show care, energy and cheerfulness, and the setting is always clean and welcoming. Excellent parent liaison, and staff are happy to make time to meet to discuss progress or if an action plan might be useful to help through the trickier toddler stages.
The team definitely deserve their outstanding rating!"
Parent's feedback from October 2017 survey-
- "I missed this survey at the time, but just want to say how very happy I am with Little Stars. Your staff are amazing, so engaged, warm and thoughtful with my son. I love how staff are given freedom to be creative themselves, turning bits of the setting into exciting ever-changing play areas - it's clear that being with adults having fun themselves is great for the kids too. The garden, yoga classes and variety of environments in what is a fairly small nursery are fantastic too. Office staff are always helpful and patient with my questions too. Special shout out to Toni and Sian who are so fun, helpful and considerate, but really everyone I've come into contact with has been great. I feel very reassured knowing J has such kind people looking after him when I'm at work. Thanks for everything."

Little things but it really does make a difference!"
* "The staff at little stars are faultless. A perfect mix of crazy, caring and creative."
Parent's feedback from May 2017-
"We absolutely love Little Stars. Our boys are turning into happy, sociable and confident little men thanks to all the hard work and time the staff put into their daily routine. One of our boys has a speech delay and they've really helped us to feel supported. The staff always take time to answer questions and update us thoroughly when we pick them up as well as regular emails about what they're learning so we can carry through into home life too.
Moving nurseries was a huge decision for me but I could not be happier with Little Stars for my son. He has settled in quickly and thrived under the care of diligent and creative staff. He actually looks proud of his nursery when I go to pick him up, running around the spacious rooms with a smile on his face.
The staff are excellent and clearly have the welfare of the children at the heart of everything they do. I've felt supported as a parent in every way, making the transition form nurseries much easier and the change from part time hours to a full week feel easier.
I love watching my little boy grow and develop in the fantastic environment.
My husband and I are delighted with the care and attention our 2 1/2 year old daughter gets. She has been a full time attendee since 10 months old and has developed into a happy, sociable and bright little girl which is in no doubt due to the creative learning and social opportunities she is immersed in throughout the week. She loves the weekly yoga sessions and will often sing songs learnt especially.
We are kept regularly updated with her progress against the early learning goals through parent meetings and tapestry updates as well monthly topics covered. Moreover, as a working mother they are incredibly flexible with allowing mine and Lola's term times to match which I am incredibly grateful for.
I would and do recommend Little Stars Nursery to anyone."
Parent's feedback from June 2016-
"Little stars and their staff have been wonderful and supportive since my son joined them. From aiding communication skills through makaton sign language, to keeping food diaries, and encouraging physical activity such as child friendly yoga shapes to the alphabet.
I have been so happy with E's care with Little Stars, there is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the staff particularly E's key workers know him so well. We are always welcomed personally when we arrive and given feedback at the end of the day, I feel the staff really know E's personality and are always aware of how he is, and tell me daily what he has been doing or any new things that he does and achieves. E always seems to have enjoyed himself and can share with me songs and words he has learned at nursery, he clearly has a good bond with the staff and is starting to know the other children (he is 18 months). I feel that the staff really share in the enjoyment of watching him grow up and are gently teaching him about things like sharing, meal times, self-care like putting on shoes or asking for help. He is very happy there.
My son loves the setting and achieves so much while he is there. I get an update on how my child has been each time I pick him up. They truly care about the children in the setting and my son is excited to go there twice a week. I would, and have, recommended the setting to friends and family. In fact I sent my son to Little Stars in the recommendation of a friend.
My son has been attending Little Stars since June 2013 when he was 11 months old, he is now almost four. We chose the nursery in the beginning because we really loved the attitude to the setting and the children shown by Emma and Laura, the owners and managers. They are really child-focused, taking care to ensure an environment and activities which are attractive to children, as well as providing them with opportunities to learn through play.
Our son has been very settled throughout his three years in the setting. One thing which I have really appreciated at Little Stars is that my son's key person has been chosen to be the person he shows a strong bond with. This has enabled him to be more settled and secure. An example is that he loves his current key person so much that he rates her on a par with me (his mother) in terms of how much he loves her.
The staff at Little Stars are continuously positive and patient with the children. Sometimes I hear them being really patient in a tricky situation and I take note of how I should act as a parent, the staff really are role models for me. The team has become really well established and works together nicely, they seem to all know and like each other.
My son loves the food and always eats his lunch very well and I am satisfied he is having a range of healthy food.
The staff seem to go beyond their normal duties and often come in at the weekend to complete improvement projects in the nursery. It has been astonishing to see the development of all areas of the site and I love the development of the outside space. One innovation for example was to get several hay bales, and my son loved jumping off and on these so much I couldn't get him to come home. I work as an academic at the local university and as such education is very important to me. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made through the early years curriculum, and despite being July-born, I feel confident he will be ready for school this September.
In summary, I feel Little Stars offers an excellent, child-focused setting for my son and I will be very sorry to say goodbye in September when my son starts school."
