Shooting Stars Room (Ages 2–5 Years)
Welcome to Shooting Stars, our vibrant pre-school room designed for children aged two to five years.
This is where curiosity, confidence, and creativity truly take flight - preparing children for their exciting journey into school and beyond.
At Little Stars Childcare, we focus on supporting every child to develop their independence, thinking skills and love of learning. Through a blend of structured activities and play-based exploration, our pre-schoolers gain the confidence and skills they need to thrive in the next stage of their education.
Learning Through Adventure and Exploration
In Shooting Stars, learning is an adventure every day. We believe that children learn best when they’re active, engaged and free to explore.
That’s why we encourage safe risk-taking - building dens and walls, climbing and even learning to make fires safely as part of our Forest School programme. These experiences help children develop resilience, teamwork, problem-solving and an appreciation for nature - essential life skills that go beyond the classroom.
Our team of experienced early years practitioners follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring each child receives tailored support from their key person, while having equal opportunities to play, learn, and grow.
Star School — Preparing for Big School
Every school leaving child in Shooting Stars takes part in Star School, a fun and engaging school-readiness programme.
Through stories, songs, group discussions, and practical activities, children develop the skills and confidence they’ll need for a smooth transition to primary school.
We help children become:
Socially confident - able to make friends, share, and work together
Emotionally resilient - comfortable separating from parents or carers
Independent - managing their own personal care and routines
Curious learners - asking questions and exploring the world around them
Effective communicators - expressing their ideas and feelings clearly
We also work closely with parents and carers, offering advice and updates to make sure the move to school feels exciting and positive for everyone.
