We are very lucky to have such a huge garden space, which has recently been revamped to accommodate our new Forest School Log Cabin.
Our under 3’s side garden has had a small revamp with putting new toys and equipment out there, including different areas to explore such as a sandpit, small playhouse and a water station! Within the under 3’s garden, due to high walls it is shaded all summer! This is perfect for those hot summer days. The children really enjoy having the swimming pools out during the summer which they get to splash around in to keep cool!
Our main garden for over 3’s offer lots of stimulating and challenging activities, where they get to build on their fine and gross motor skills! Our main garden has bikes and balance bikes, Micro-scooters and a slide/climbing wall! Our children have access to the garden all day; we mostly have the garden open as free flow play.
Our Forest School has recently been revamped and we have trained a member of staff to be our Forest School Leader. The log cabin is now open daily with 6-10 children out there at a time, we go on a 1:4 ratio as the children have the chance to build real fires, use real tools and have even cooked their lunch on the fire pit!
We go in the garden in all weathers, as this helps the children to gain an understanding and appreciation of nature.
We do ask parents to provide appropriate clothing to support those seasons but please do not worry if you forget, we have lots of spares!
